A beautiful trip to Brett’s family’s farm in Nebraska just became even more special… we’re engaged!
The setting, the deep fall colors of the soybean and corn fields, (and the ring of course!) completely took my breath away. I’m feeling so happy, excited and incredibly blessed.
It’s safe to assume this post will be the first of a flood of wedding finds and ideas… let the planning begin!
In the penthouse of an uptown Manhattan loft, I found myself unexpectedly in shabby chic heaven. With whitewashed walls, distressed accents, vintage novelties and antiqued mirrors hung just right, this comfy loft space was about as country cozy as gets in the Big Apple!
A friend shared this over email rcently, and I had to pass along! This is why I love diving… isn’t it gorgeous?!
These were all from a family trip to Belize!
The Sea, biologists tell us, holds the key to the mysteries of life. In some unknown time and way a molecule of matter crossed an unknown line and became a living cell. Other scientists believe that the human mind has a dim awareness of long tenuous roots that stretch back into the sea.
When we dream of being in water, they say, of diving into it or coming out of it, we are reliving the mysteries of our own birth. Our language reflects the uneasy awe we feel towards the unknown world which covers most of the planet. When something is beyond our understanding we say it’s “too deep” or that “we just can’t fathom it!”

While the bulls weren’t quite the size you’d expect to see in Pamplona, they were good sports and showed the runners a good time.
