<y adorably crafty friend Jenn invited me and my boyfriend over for dinner, and asked us to bring old glass vases and an Exacto knife along with us. We made the custom etched vase masterpieces above, and had tons of fun working on the creative activity.
What you’ll need:
- Glass vases
- Contact paper
- Armor Etching Cream (Approx $25 at Michael’s)
- Rubber gloves
- Exacto knife
- Paint brush
Step 1: Cut contact paper the height of your vase and make sure it’s long enough to wrap all the way around the glass.
Step 2: Sketch your design onto the contact paper.
Step 3: Paste the contact paper onto your vase and use the exacto knife to cut out the details. Note: The exposed glass areas will be the frosted part of your vase.
Step 4: Protect your hands by wearing rubber gloves, and use the paint brush to spread the etching cream over the exposed glass areas. Slather generously, and leave on for at least 30 minutes.
Step 5: Rinse the etching cream off in the sink and remove the contact paper.
Voila!
Tip: Try not to get oils onto the etched portions of your glass. It can stain, and ruin all that hard work you put into your masterpiece!

Thanks for posting such a fun and super cute DIY!
