Nature in Fredericksburg

texas hill country donkeysWhen decorating our oldest baby’s room, I wanted him to be surrounded by photos of the nature around us right here in Fredericksburg, so I took some of my favorite photos and had them printed on wood. From these donkeys above, to the goats below, he’s now pointing to the animals above his crib, prompting me to entertain him with animal sounds and terribly off-key versions of Old MacDonald.

wildflowers in fredericksburg texas

Fredericksburg is in full bloom, and the whole countryside is getting more alive and colorful by the day! Bluebonnets, Primrose, and Texas paintbrushes are beginning to pop up along the roads as just a hint to what’s to come.

Wildseed Farms, Willow City, the LBJ Ranch, and the Wine and Wildflower Trail are just a few of the wildflower hotspots we’re looking forward to this spring. I’ll have my camera ready!
