I created some simple party favors for a friend’s baby shower last weekend, which doubled as place cards. I ordered the mini succulents from The Succulent Source, which has incredible customer service and delivered them sooner than they quoted – I love when businesses exceed my expectations!
Here’s how’s to recreate this cute DIY.
I wanted to make something extra special to be for the mommy-to-be at this weekend’s baby shower, since there are few things that light up her eyes more than a yummy dessert… a girl after my own heart who loves to end each meal on a sweet note!
Here’s what I came up with, but not without the help of my friend Betsy, who I like to refer to as my personal Pillsbury Help Center. With her natural knack for confection perfection, not to mention her incredible job within the Pillsbury baking division at General Mills, she prevents my baking disasters with her great tips, without batting an eyelash. (I’ve been begging her for years to start a baking blog… fingers crossed!)
Fudgey Frosted Brownies with Sprinkles
I started with this delish fudge brownie recipe from Butter Me Up, Brooklyn, which is extra dense and perfect for frosting and dipping. Instead of baking in the brownie pan, however, I used mini muffin pans and reduced the bake time to 15 minutes, checking frequently to make sure they weren’t getting too crisp.

I’ve been determined to design the majority of our wedding decor so it’ll be personalized and cohesive with our rustic chic wedding theme, and in doing so I’m pretty excited about the designs I’ve come up with! I’m afraid I’ll have wedding withdrawals once our wedding comes along and the planning is all over with, so I’ve come up with a solution… hopefully! These all now available on Etsy as I try to build up a collection. My fiance says I list them for too cheap, but I love getting orders and collaborating with brides, so here goes!

I’ve been getting crafty again… this time making some burlap boutonnieres for our wedding that will fit in perfectly with our rustic glam theme. Here’s what I came up with—a combination of burlap, twine, sage and baby’s breath. I’m thrilled about how they turned out, and they’re fiance-approved!
By popular request they’re now available in my Etsy shop! So between glue gun burns and lots of patience, I’ve created a new little hobby and top seller in the shop with these rustic burlap boutonnieres embellished with baby’s breath and sage.
